MJN & Associates provided a comprehensive 2007 operations review
of the new Iowa / Aramark health care laundry. The operations review
involved a 2 day site visit and detailed report with practical recommendations
for improving process efficiency.
The Perley Hospital
Operations Review, Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Services
Mr. John Lupton, Executive Director
MJN & Associates, LLC acted as project leader for an operations review of staff,
equipment and systems for the materials management, housekeeping
and laundry departments for this 200 bed long-term care facility
located in Ottawa.
St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home
Laundry, Linen and Engineering Services Operational Review &
Ministry of Health Province of Ontario, Toronto
MJN & Associates, LLC provided a review of staffing and operations of the three
departments for this 184 bed Nursing Home located in Hamilton, Ontario.
The Ministry of Health engaged MJN & Associates, LLC, and partly due to Laundry
and Engineering operational challenges, assumed the administration
of this Nursing Home.
Wetaskiwin General Hospital
Laundry Department Operations Review
Mr. Peter Langill, CEO
Working with a team of consultants, MJN & Associates, LLC provided a full departmental
operations review of the materials management and housekeeping departments
for this 150 acute care bed facility located in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
K-Bro Cumberland Laundry
Mr. Gene Freeborn, CEO, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital
MJN Inc provided a review and analysis of the K-Bro Cumberland
Laundry to determine its operational efficiency, overall costs,
and likelihood for improvement.
The project resulted in a recommendation to terminate the contract
with the private sector supplier and to purchase the plant and equipment
for self-operation. The Laundry Board and the Ministry of Health
accepted the recommendations, and the organizations involved have
now acquired the assets to operate the Laundry.
Western Memorial Regional Hospital
Corner Brook, Newfoundland
Western Linen Services Laundry Review
Mr. David Osmond, Assistant Executive Director
MJN Inc. provided a review of a large on-site regional laundry
servicing several communities and centres in Newfoundland
including Corner Brook, Stephenville, Stephenville Crossing and
Port aux Basques. Customers were visited, sites inspected, and a
number of systems, including transportation and workflow, were reviewed
The Board of Directors of the Laundry endorsed the final report.
Vancouver Island Central Health Region
Cowichan District General Hospital
Ms. Audrey Spence
MJN & Associates, LLC provided a review and assessment of a Hospital Laundry
located on the site of the Cowichan District General Hospital. Equipment,
space, textiles, and procedures were reviewed in order to recommend
whether to maintain laundry operations or to contract out the service.
A full system cost-benefit analysis was provided for option comparison.

General Linen and Personal Laundry Efficiency Study and Recommendations

laundry options for this medium-sized long-term care facility in
Cloverdale, British Columbia.
The report detailed staffing options, equipment considerations,
and the cost implications of contracting out the general linen workload.
